About us

Septic projects, coordinated properly

Turtle Tanks Island Systems Inc. is a septic-project coordination and installation company serving property owners on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

What we do

Turtle Tanks Island Systems Inc. helps property owners manage septic projects from the initial assessment and planning stages through construction, completion documentation and maintenance planning. We coordinate the people, information and practical work required to keep each project moving in the correct order.

Where specialist qualifications are required — soil evaluation, system design, authorizations — that work is carried out by the appropriate qualified professionals, and TTIS coordinates it alongside the contractors carrying out the construction.

We do not present septic pumping, cleaning or routine inspection as a core service. Our work is complete installations, replacing failing systems, upgrades, and the planning and paperwork that surrounds them.

Our role on your project

Our role is to make a complicated property project easier to understand and manage. That means explaining what happens next, keeping the different parts of the work connected and avoiding promises about approvals or site conditions before the appropriate investigation has been completed.

How we work

The TTIS approach

Understand the property first

Every project begins by understanding the property, its intended use and any existing system before anything is designed or priced.

Coordinate assessment and design

Assessment and design work is coordinated with the appropriate qualified professionals, so the right people make the technical determinations.

Keep paperwork organized

We help keep authorization paperwork and project information organized, so nothing stalls because a document went missing.

Coordinate construction

Excavation, materials, installation and required construction reviews are coordinated in a workable order with the participating contractors.

Assemble completion records

Completion records and maintenance information are assembled and handed to the property owner, so there is a clear record of what is in the ground.

Communicate clearly

You always know the current stage, the next step and what information is still required — in plain language, including when something is uncertain.

Framework

Professional and regulatory framework

Onsite wastewater projects in British Columbia operate under the provincial Sewerage System Regulation and the applicable standards and professional requirements.

TTIS coordinates projects with the appropriate Authorized Persons and project professionals required for the work. Depending on the project, this may include Registered Onsite Wastewater Practitioners, engineers, installers, excavation contractors and other specialists.

Planning, installation, construction reviews and completion documentation are coordinated according to the project requirements and the responsibilities of the professionals involved.

Standards informing the work

  • BC Sewerage System Regulation
  • BC Sewerage System Standard Practice Manual
  • ASTTBC ROWP Practice Guidelines
  • Requirements of the applicable regional health authority
  • Project-specific filing and design documents
